YOUR WEDDING
The Church in the Forest in Pebble Beach, California is
located in the award winning Erdman Chapel on the campus of
the Robert Louis Stevenson School. Set among the
Monterey pines in Del Monte Forest, our chapel has long been
a favorite place for weddings. The contemporary design
of the two hundred seat chapel features a stunning picture
window in the sanctuary. The multi-denominational
church is an ideal place for your ceremony.
CLERGY
Couples of all faiths are welcomed for weddings at the
Church. We have several resident clergy who can
perform your ceremony. If you wish to use your own
regularly ordained minister, priest or rabbi, please discuss
this with the wedding coordinator when you schedule your
wedding.
RESERVATIONS
The Church is often booked well in advance. You should
reserve your wedding date by contacting the wedding
coordinator Kay Gameiro at 831-624-1374 as early as
possible. Your Wedding
Reservation Form
must
be returned within two weeks of making your reservation
along with the non-refundable $600.00 deposit. If we
have not heard from you in two weeks, your tentative
reservation will be canceled.
FEES
The fee for a wedding at Church in the Forest is all
inclusive*. This fee of $1250.00 covers:
Use of the chapel (including the dressing room) for three hours: one hour for the rehearsal and two hours for the wedding.
Services of the minister, the organist and the wedding coordinator
Sanctuary flowers and candelabra
A rehearsal with the minister
Parking and guest entry to Pebble Beach
Owing to the frequent use of the Chapel, the allotted time periods must be respected.
*Not Included: Unity Candle (if desired) and 18 tapers for additional wedding candelabras
PAYMENT
To insure your reservation, a non-refundable $600.00 deposit
must accompany your wedding reservation form. Our
return confirmation letter will indicate the date the final
payment is due. We will refund this remaining payment
if your cancellation is received at least two weeks prior to
your wedding date.
LICENSE
You must have a valid Certificate of Registry of Marriage
(license) from any California county. You cannot be
married without this document. Please bring the
license and the forwarding envelope to the
rehearsal.
WEDDING
SCHEDULE
Two hours are allotted for each wedding.
The hour before the wedding is for the bride and her
attendants to dress, preparation of the church and seating
of the guests.
The hour of the ceremony is for the wedding, signing of the
documents and photographs. It is very important that
you and your guests arrive on time. You will receive a
map with your confirmation letter. We suggest that you
include a copy with your invitations.
BRIDE
AND GROOM
A dressing area is available one hour before the ceremony
for the bride and her attendants. We are not
responsible for any loss incurred while using the dressing
area. Therefore you must arrange to have someone
remove all personal items from the dressing area prior to
the wedding. The groom and the groom's men should
arrive in wedding attire 30 minutes before the
ceremony.
REHEARSALS
Wedding rehearsals usually take place the day prior to the
ceremony. We schedule rehearsals for one hour in the
late afternoon or early evening. The exact time will
be established when you make your wedding reservation.
If you have chosen to bring your own clergyman, you are
responsible for arranging his/her participation in the
rehearsal. Please encourage your wedding party to be
prompt.
PHOTOGRAPHY
No photographs may be taken inside the church prior to the
ceremony. In keeping with the spirit of worship, no
photographs are to be taken in the church during the wedding
ceremony EXCEPT as follows:
From the entrance during the processional
From the balcony or office door during the service - provided there is not flash or disruptive noise.
From the back of the church during the recessional.
Video
is under the same restrictions.
The time for additional pictures is after the
ceremony. Please be sure your photographer is informed
of these restrictions and will honor them.
MUSIC
Our regular Church organist or an authorized
substitute is the only person permitted to use the
organ. The organist will assist in the selection of
appropriate music. We will provide you with a beautifully
recorded CD of our organist performing traditional
selections for your
convenience
in
making your selections. Please read the

from your Organist
and
complete the Music
Planning Form.
We welcome classical ensembles, classical guitar and other
appropriate instruments, keeping in mind the religious
nature of our ceremonies. Our organist can suggest
instrumentalists and soloists if you wish.
FLOWERS
Church in the Forest will provide sanctuary flowers which
remain in the Church. However, you may bring your own
sanctuary flowers if you wish. Personal flowers are
the responsibility of the bride. You may arrange to
have additional flowers brought into the Church for the
ceremony. Be sure the florist understands that the
Church will not be available until the hour before your
ceremony and that all added flowers must be removed from the
Church immediately after the wedding.
WEDDING
COORDINATOR
The wedding coordinator will assist with your plans.
She will make your wedding reservations, coordinate your
rehearsal and assist on your wedding day. She can also
suggest various local florists, photographers and reception
sites.
MISCELLANEOUS
RECEIVING LINES, GUEST BOOKS, REFRESHMENTS and the THROWING
OF RICE should be part of the reception and are not
permitted at the Church.
NO SMOKING in the Church
NO ALCOHOL is allowed at the Church or on the school
campus. Please discuss this with the wedding party
prior to the wedding.
The Church in the Forest is not responsible for any loss or damage to your personal property or that of your guests.
The Church building is usually open on Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday mornings or by appointment with the wedding coordinator.
