Welcome Sophia Gonzalez!
A new music specialist, Sophia is a mezzo soprano established in opera, musical theater, and art song. She maintains a private voice studio in Gilroy.
Today’s music includes some favorite show tunes and two songs inspired by the words of the Psalms. In Psalm 91, we read “You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, ‘My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ From Psalm 124 is the cry of despair: “If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when our enemies attacked us, then the flood would have swept us away.” Following this is the assurance of faith: “Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Pray these words as you hear them sung today, and carry the melodies with you as a memory this week.
