Welcome back to the Elyoussoufi brothers!
Josef has been a piano student of Barbara Ruziska since age 7, was home-schooled, and now attends York School as a senior. Josef was selected to perform at the Sunset Center for many Carmel Bach Festival Young Musician Showcase concerts. He was awarded a first prize for piano by the Music Teachers’ Association of California. In 2022 he was selected for the final round of the Henry and Carol Zeiter Piano Competition at the University of the Pacific. Josef is an avid reader and dreams of becoming a theoretical physicist.
David was introduced to the cello as part of the Orchestra in the Schools Program in Monterey. He studies cello with Aleksey Klyushnik and is a tenth grader with Ocean Grove Charter School. David led the cello section of the Central Coast Section Orchestra in 2022 and has performed at the Sunset Center for many Carmel Bach Festival Young Musician Showcase concerts. As the winner of Youth Music Monterey Honors Concerto Competition, David will perform the Lalo Cello Concerto at Sunset Center on February 26. David hopes to pursue the study of music and mathematics.
