Directed by Daniel Henriks, I Cantori di Carmel is an auditioned volunteer chorus that seeks excellence in choral performance. Their programs include masterworks of the symphonic choral repertoire as well as lesser-known jewels for chorus. I Cantori di Carmel (Italian for The Singers of Carmel) has been bringing choral classics to the Monterey Peninsula since 1981. They perform concerts twice annually, in the spring and fall, at the Carmel Mission Basilica and other venues on the Central Coast.
I Cantori di Carmel performs December 2 and 3 at the Carmel Mission at 8:00 pm. Additional performances are December 9, 2023, 8:00 pm at Five Wounds Portuguese National Church, San Jose, and December 10, 2023, 8:00 pm at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Santa Cruz. The concert features romantic music of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Max Bruch, Joseph Gabriel Rheinberger and Engelbert Humperdinck. Tickets are available at http://www.icantori.org
