Welcome to Claire Lee, offering a lovely organ solo today. Claire is a student at Stevenson School, studying organ with Cathryn Wilkinson and Angela Kraft Cross of Palo Alto. Dr. Cross composed this music as a gift for Claire this past summer.
Today’s vocal selections come from poets and composers who have been inspired by seas and rivers, relating experiences and memories connected to water. Perhaps you have had similar thoughts, living on the edge of Monterey Bay and taking in the grandeur of the coast, just like the Psalmist:
The seas have lifted up, Lord,
the seas have lifted up their voice;
the seas have lifted up their pounding waves.
Mightier than the thunder of the great waters,
mightier than the breakers of the sea—
the Lord on high is mighty.
(Psalm 93:3-4)
