Sophia Gonzalez is a newly Monterey based mezzo-soprano. A new music specialist, Sophia is established in opera, musical theater, and art song. Her most notable recent performances include Anna I/II in Kurt Weill’s Seven Deadly Sins in February 2021 and as the soloist for the Luciano Berio Folk Songs. In a choral setting, she is one of the premiere members of the Central Coast Chamber Choir as well as a previous choral scholar for the Bach Collegium of San Diego. Sophia is both a performer and educator, founding the C.S.P.A.A. in 2020, a non-profit music program designed to create a music summer camp experience for K-8 students in the south bay area. She holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from San Diego State University.
