Welcome to Mark Stevens, jazz pianist extraordinaire! Mark is a Chicago native now making his home in Pacific Grove where he is the proprietor of Mark Stevens Fine Pianos, the sole piano dealer on the peninsula, and teaching piano to children. Mark is an accomplished jazz singer and began his professional career at the age of twenty with The Charles Morgan Trio at the Grapevine Jazz Club in Chicago. Most recently Mark performed the stage production of Velvet Fog, The Life and Music of Mel Tormé, accompanied by a 17-piece big band until his retirement from live performance several years ago.
“There is a close correlation between jazz and prayer. Prayer in its most pure form is spontaneous and from the heart. Likewise, so is jazz spontaneous and from the heart. Let us create an atmosphere which invites those in attendance into a prayerful frame of mind.” —Mark Stevens
Please give Mark your warmest welcome!
