It is a joy to welcome my friend and colleague, Emi Saeki Wada, and to share the music making with her today. This talented organist, pianist and composer previously attended CitF as a member of the bible study class and also frequently played the organ and piano for our services. She married Carmel resident Hiroshi Wada on August 17, 2017, and has been living in Tokyo for the past two years waiting for her American visa to be processed. We visited her there in the fall of 2017 and had the pleasure of meeting her mother, sister, and other musical friends. Emi hopes to become a full-time resident of Carmel in the near future, when we will be able to enjoy her musical gifts and friendship on a more predicable and continuing basis. She returns to Tokyo on Sept. 26 and hopes to return in the spring. Please give her your warmest welcome and best wishes for a speedy resolution to the visa process.
She wrote: “I selected ‘Assurance’ and ‘Fantasia’ to express my joy that I could come to U.S.A. and start new life. J. S. Bach wrote Fantasia in his younger age and I feel his passion, influenced by Buxtehude, joyful music to God.”
