Hope is a wonderful gift from God!

When life gets crazy and dreams fade, nothing helps like HOPE.

Webster defines hope: “Desire accompanied by expectation of or belief in fulfillment…to desire with expectation of obtainment…to expect with confidence.” How vital is that expectation! Without it, students get discouraged and drop out of school. Without it, athletic teams fall into a slump and continue to lose….fledgling writers, longing to be published, run out of determination….addicts return to their habits…inventors, artists, entertainers, entrepreneurs, even preachers, lose their creativity.

Hope is not merely a nice option that helps us temporarily clear a hurdle. It is essential to our survival.

Hope is as important to humans as water is to a fish, as vital as electricity is to a light bulb, as essential as air is to a jet plane. Hope is that basic to life.

Hope surrounds us. It can be found beyond suffering and temptation…beyond impulse and bitterness…beyond trials and times of dissatisfaction and shame to name a few.

Our guide for this eight-week journey is the rugged, strong-willed, passionate, and expressive fisherman who denied Jesus three times in one night. The spokesperson for the Twelve. The one who in the midst of a storm at sea took his eyes off Jesus and lost sight of hope.

Welcome to a journey of hope!!

See you in worship!
