We’ll honor our beloved Bill Rolland with a memorial service this Saturday, January 26, 1:00PM at Keck Auditorium, Stevenson School. Join us and the wider community touched by Bill’s Christ-shaped soul, his selfless service and joyous wit.
On Saturday we’ll affirm our faith that Bill now wears his heavenly crown. Then, on Sunday, we’ll think about our worldly crowns. In Psalm 8 we’ll read how God made the human mind and our moral reasoning the apex of creation, the crowning glory of God’s design and a reflection of God’s own mind. But, as we move onto Jeremiah 13, we’ll hear Jeremiah’s complaint that his fellow citizens have tarnished the crown God gave them.
Ancient lessons, but with modern relevance: every step forward afforded by human ingenuity gets tainted by problems and corruption. (Are you still on Facebook?)
