N-O-W !
In a world, rife with pain, death and sadness, with violence, rancor and ill-will we do well just stopping…….seeing…….breathing…
Thy will be done…here. Now.
This moment.
This time.
This pause.
This intake of breath.
Thy will be done now.
Lord, teach us to pray…What is prayer?
A colleague, Elizabeth Butler Jameson, says, “I’ve been thinking that in our training as good consumers we are spring loaded to think of prayer as access to a vending machine. Yet what Jesus models and invites us into with this prayer is our tuning ourselves to God’s dream almost as a musician tunes their instrument. Trusting in the mystery, the gifts, even the losses as somehow part of the being and becoming.”
This moment,
this then,
this there,
this now.
“Our Father who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name,
thy Kingdom come,
thy will be done . . .”
now.
