Honoring The Reverend Dr. William Blyth Rolland

I hope you can join us Sunday to celebrate our beloved Pastor Emeritus who touched countless with the love, joy and goodness of God. Church In The Forest was blessed to have Bill lead us as our Senior Pastor from 1998 until his retirement in 2017. He served as Chaplain of Stevenson School for the same period. I have NO IDEA how he was able to fill BOTH POSITIONS. As a pastor, counselor, teacher and coach, Bill took particular delight in supporting students whose families, like his, had been underestimated by those around them owing to their limited financial means. His parishioners, students, and faculty colleagues saw in him the embodiment of the school’s Latin motto, Suaviter in modo, fortiter in re (“Gentle in manner, resolute in action”), which emphasizes humility and perseverance.

Through the incredible generosity of Bill’s friends over $400,000 has been raised to fund the endowment of The Reverend Dr. William Rolland Memorial Scholarship. THANK YOU for your generosity.
