FROM OUR PASTOR

Prince Harry, standing in front of Windsor Castle on Monday, could hardly contain himself: “It’s been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly imagine. How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension!”
He was announcing the birth of his and Megan’s first child, but he was speaking for us all: motherhood is a stupendous, mysterious miracle, yet around us every day. Out of “nothing” comes a human being – responsive, thinking, ready to bond and learn. The mystery of creativity!
This Sunday we’ll think about that astonishing creativity as we celebrate Mothers’ Day. We’ll see that creativity in our special music provided by Paul Wilmot and Edwin Huizinga, and, of course, Melinda.
And we’ll think about that creativity in our prayers, as we embark on a new sermon series about the Lord’s Prayer.
The series begins where the Lord’s Prayer starts: “Our Father. . .” I am sure God was looking down and laughing when I finally realized I had to preach on “Father” for Mother’s Day.
Come and see how I solve that puzzle of creativity!
