Music. That thing which engages us, inspires us, connects us, empowers us, soothes us, and fills our spirits to the very brim, music lies within us and surrounds us in our everyday culture. Songs echo in our souls–we carry them in our hearts. In this way, music becomes a part of us. It’s a form of expression, a language that knows no bounds. When words fail, music speaks. We cannot keep silent. So, we sing. We sing about faith and love and experiences. We sing about thanksgiving and the change in seasons. We sing about singing. How can we not?
Music is such an important part of worship in church. To celebrate Giving Thanks for Music is not an anomaly. It is an opportunity to shine a spotlight upon the faithful musicians of the church and community, giving thanks to God for all they have done, are still doing, and will continue to do.
Music draws people together in worship. Music unites us, even across cyberspace. It’s important to rehearse and learn, so that you can join in with confidence and with full voice. As we gather Sunday to celebrate the gift of music MAY MUSIC FLOW AS EXPRESSIONS OF OUR FAITH AND SPIRITUALITY.
See you in church!!
