In our Small Groups we easily discuss our struggles and epiphanies of faith. We hear remarkable stories of new insight, healing, and trust in God.
But some of us confess that it’s hard to have these kinds of conversations outside of small group. How do we share our faith? Charles Schultz captures the difficulty of discussing faith in this Peanuts cartoon:
Sharing our faith comes more easily when we understand the nature of faith – it is personal! Sharing our faith does not mean we must defend the Virgin Birth, expound on the Trinity, or analyze the Nicene Creed. Faith must always be, first, a story of our own transformation, a truthful story of how our lives have been changed and strengthened by God and our spiritual community.
In this Sunday’s scripture lessons we get guidance on sharing our faith. Sharing faith can be like The Butterfly Effect – gentle, quiet actions and words that flow out easily from us and touch other souls.
The Butterfly Effect of our Faith can have great, blessed impact for others.
