Sitting on the beach and watching the powerful ebb and flow of the Pacific Ocean or Monterey Bay causes one to contemplate the vastness of creation, the intricacy of its balance, and the vibrancy of its constant transitions. Watching the waves crash, watching the sand slip away and listening to the sounds of the sea makes me wonder if that is how God is speaking to us, and calling us to holy moments. In the sounds of the ocean God “calls us out of the waters” into a new day and to remind us to keep our eyes upon God and to “find God in the mystery” of these moments.
We sing that God’s love is like the ocean, filling the very void and space of our emptiness with power and completeness. Even the calmest of waters, the gentlest of waves and the command of the ocean’s tide is God-like: powerful and whole.
As the Holy Spirit navigates us through the currents of life, let’s continue to be bold with a strong faith, keeping our eyes above the water. Let us step out in faith and walk with certainty, knowing God is always with us.
Enjoy God’s maritime creation!
