I am blessed to have three grandchildren (ages 5, 3, 1) and they are all captivating. Their curiosity, their personalities, their energy, their sweetness, their high-pitched voices, and their soft gentle breathing in grandpa’s embrace.
I looked up “Pictures of Jesus and Children” on the internet. There were more than 23,000. They come in various poses (standing, sitting, walking); sometimes there is only one child, and others a large group. The children are various ages, ethnicity, and gender. But there is one constant in all the pictures—Jesus holds the child(ren) in his arms or on his lap and his loving embrace enfolds them. When you examine the pictures, you notice at once the trusting feelings exhibited on the faces of the children.
We will look more closely at the lesson Jesus wants us to learn from children on Sunday.
