How Do You Choose a Book?
How do you choose a book? Does the picture on the cover grab your
attention? (Or the Kindle picture, as the case may be.) Do you read the
flap on the inside of the cover and decide if the book will be to your
taste? Do you choose a book because a friend recommended it? Or
perhaps you saw the movie and want the unabridged version. Or maybe
you go the first page and see if it grabs your attention. Is it the heft of the
book that attracts you? Does the fact that it has 500 pages cinch it for
you-or cause you to return it to the shelf? Perhaps you have read another
book by the same author and so the choice is easy: you obviously choose
it. Or not.
Do you choose a book by its cover?
Do you choose to engage with a stranger the same way?
Regardless of how you choose, there is always a place for you in our
pews.
