Cathryn is an accomplished organist and pianist, with a degree in music from the College of William and Mary in addition to a Master of Fine Arts in organ performance and Ph.D. in music theory from The University of Iowa School of Music. Cathryn is also the current Vice President of Academic Affairs at Hartnell Community College District in Salinas.
Cathryn Wilkinson, organist and pianist, earned her bachelor’s degree in music from The College of William and Mary, where she frequently performed in the Candlelight Concert series at historic Bruton Parish Church in Williamsburg, Virginia. After completing a Master of Fine Arts in organ performance and Ph.D. in music theory from The University of Iowa School of Music, she began her college teaching career at Concordia University-Chicago. She later became Associate Professor and Chair of the Music Department at Aurora University in suburban Chicago, and continued to perform professionally in a wide variety of repertoire on organ and piano in Chicago, northern California, and Monterey County. She has been featured in performances at national conventions of the Organ Historical Society and the American Guild of Organists in Washington, D.C., and was selected to perform in the Organ Days of Jozef Grešák in Bardejov, Slovakia, with the support of a Fulbright scholarship. Cathryn holds the Associateship (AAGO) and Colleague (CAGO) certificates of the American Guild of Organists and has volunteered locally and nationally to support the Guild’s education programs. In addition to her musical career, Dr. Wilkinson has been a full-time community college administrator for 12 years, serving as Dean at Monterey Peninsula College and Napa Valley College. Her current position is Vice President of Academic Affairs at Hartnell Community College District in Salinas.
